The book was set on a farm there in the late 1940s and paints a bleak picture of the white colonists' views and treatment of the natives.

I wonder what blessings the African cultures would be showering on the world if they had been allowed to thrive instead of being suppressed and abused through colonization...julianalovespyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13888699865844959964noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7527303123097191509.post-11334504361526719762008-06-28T02:23:00.000-07:002008-06-28T02:23:00.000-07:00Uganda was referred to as "The Pearl of Africa" by...Uganda was referred to as "The Pearl of Africa" by Winston Churchill.

Presently, and surprisingly, Uganda's AIDS rates are on the decline which can be directly attributed to Apostle Alex Mitala's "GLOVIMO" campaign: The Glory of Virginity Movement. His slogan? "Before marriage, No Sex. After marriage, Sex!" Mitala is truly a man of the kingdom, introducing and implementing kingdom principles across the entire country of Uganda and now into neighboring countries.

I'm honored to have worked with Mitala directly, watching thousands of dollars funnel through his organization while he and his family live simple, active, and open lives.

We spoke at length with an American in Uganda who was very influential politically. He recommended that we not trust anyone--especially people in government--(Mitala excepted) and to filter ALL of our giving through Mitala. Comparatively, the political leaders of Uganda live like Hollywood moviestars while the indigenous pastors live like lower income Americans.

Never have I met another man with so much authority and humility. He's probably the best picture of Jesus I have.

You can read more here: http://www.building-uganda.org/.Lorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08755844254207753263noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7527303123097191509.post-66792164108313872312008-06-27T00:51:00.000-07:002008-06-27T00:51:00.000-07:00Certainly much of the politics in Zimbabwe over th...Certainly much of the politics in Zimbabwe over the last few months have made me say "O!" God bless Africa.

From a literary standpoint, it's interesting that so much of Africa makes me say "O", but definitely not "Oh"... not quite sure why.The Drs.
